GH Therapy in Adults Previously, adults with panhypopituitarism on ‘full’ hormone replacement therapy were considered to be restored to ‘normal’, but recently it has been shown that, as a group, they have a marked increase in premature ‘total’ and ‘cardiovascular’ mortality, and also often have major abnormalities in body composition, physical performance, and quality of life. Replacement therapy with GH in deficient adults, however, is still experimental, and its role has not yet been accepted by all authorities.
